Solar shower
Description and technical details
The UNO solar pool shower holds 35 L (9 US gal) of water, plenty for a rinse before and after swimming. It connects to a regular garden hose, and its aluminum body works as a solar collector to warm the water in the sun.
The water can reach up to 60 °C (140 °F): use the mixing tap to set a comfortable temperature, and always test the water before showering, especially with children. A second tap near the base rinses feet with cold water, so less sand and grass end up in the pool.
At night, a motion-activated LED light switches on when someone comes within 2 m (6.5 ft). It runs on a 2,000 mAh battery charged by a built-in solar panel, with no wiring needed.
Before the first frost: disconnect the hose, drain the shower completely and store it indoors, or leave the taps open. Water left inside can freeze and damage the tank.
